These natural calamities caused major ecological and agricultural damage to American and Canadian lands in the 1930s. According to Wikipedia, in 1934 there was only one dust storm (on May, 9). It was so strong that 12 million pounds of dust were deposited to Chicago. The dust storm reached cities like Buffalo, Boston, Cleveland, New York and Washington.
