How many divisions are there in mitosis and meiosis?
2 in meiosis and 1 in mitosis
Not too many people know that mitosis is a process of asexual reproduction in which the cell divides in two producing a replica, with an equal number of chromosomes in each resulting diploid cell. Moreover, meiosis is a type of cellular reproduction in which the number of chromosomes is reduced by half through the separation of homologous chromosomes, producing two haploid cells. This means that there are 2 divisions in meiosis and one in mitosis. The function of meiosis is sexual reproduction while the function of mitosis is cellular reproduction.
