How many delegates attended the Constitutional Convention?

55

Did you know that the Constitutional Convention is also known as the Philadelphia Convention, the Federal Convention or the Grand Convention at Philadelphia?  It took place from May 25 to September 17, 1787, in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania.  The main idea is that the delegates elected George Washington to preside over the Convention.  Keep in mind that the states had originally appointed 70 representatives to the Convention.  Anyway, some of the appointees did not accept or could not attend.  There were only 55 delegates who attended the Constitutional Convention.
