How many deer have been hit by cars in Wisconsin?
40000 each year
It is interesting to know that over 40000 are hit by cars every year. This is the main reason Wisconsin state officials are warning that the threat of car-deer crashes is extremely high. Needless to say, the state Department of Transportation considers that along with the deer mating season in October and November there is a higher risk of them darting out in front of vehicles. In case hitting a deer can’t be avoided, it’s safer for the driver to hit the brakes and hit the deer rather than swerve suddenly to miss it.
