How many covalent bonds are there in Sulfur?
2
Not too many people know that Sulfur forms one covalent bond with itself because it has 6 electrons in its outer valence shell. This is the main reason while when putting two atoms of Sulfer together they share two pairs of electrons to achieve a full valence shell. The main idea is that the full valence shell contains 8 electrons. The main idea is that Sulfer does not form a covalent bond. On the contrary, it forms a double covalent bond with itself.
