It is important to know that Haiti cholera outbreak is the worst epidemic of cholera in recent history, according to the U.S. Centers for Disease Control and Prevention. 694309 cholera cases have been registered. Unfortunately, there were also many deaths. 8,492 persons died in Haiti. Believe it or not, cholera has killed at least 8,231 Haitians and hospitalized hundreds of thousands more. Needless to say, the disease spread also to neighboring countries including the Dominican Republic and Cuba. Since October 2010, more than 6% of Haitians have had the disease.
