How many businesses are in Canada?
As per the survey on December 2001, there were approximately 2.2 million businesses in Canada. Among them about one-half of all business establishments maintained a payroll of at least one person who is the owner of the business. Those are called ‘Å“Employer Businesses’. Businesses that do not maintain a payroll are labelled ‘Å“Indeterminate’ and they account for the other half of the total number of business establishments in Canada.
