How many blind children are there in US?
59,193
Not too many people know that the statutory definition of “legally blind†is that central visual acuity must be 20/200 or less in the better eye with the best possible correction or that the visual field must be 20 degrees or less. There are 59193 blind children in the United States of America. Studies show that approximately 468,000 children ages 3-5, one in every 20, have vision problems. Needless to say, among school-age children, eye disorders affect one in every four. This signifies that there are about 12.1 million blind children.
