How many bicycle deaths have there been?

118 in UK in 2012

Statistics do not look too good at all when it comes to the number of bicycle deaths.  In UK, for example, in 2012, there have been 118 bicycle deaths.  13 children and 105 died in bicycle accidents.  The main idea is that cyclist casualties have significantly increased in recent years as the amount of cycling has increased.  Keep in mind the fact that the majority of cyclist casualties are adults, with less than one fifth being children.   It is interesting to know the fact that males are far more likely to be involved in cycling accidents than females.  In fact, four out of five cyclist casualties are male.
