Around 51.4 million.

Laparoscopy surgery, also known as minimally invasive surgery or keyhole surgery or band aid surgery is a new surgical technique in which very small incisions (around 0.5 – 1.5 cm) are made in the abdomen or pelvic cavity.  It has several benefits as it reduces the pain and hemorrhaging, so the patient recovers within a very short time. TV monitors are used to enlarge the elements of surgery.

According to the Center for Disease Control and Prevention, nearly 51.4 million laparoscopy procedures are performed in a year.
