One of Dwayne Johnson’s taglines as The Rock was that he was the people’s champion. With his people’s eyebrow he took the WWE by storm and now with his people’s fingers he brings us words of wisdom across the internet. He is famed for his fascinating insights, banter and general all round interaction with fellow users or Twitter. He has thousands of followers and here is a selection of some of his best tweets:

1.She Rocks It!

UFC is tough ‘ for tough people so when The Rock found a picture of women’s UFC champion Ronda Rousey wearing nothing but a long shirt and a big smile and sporting his championship belt, he came up with this classic tweet: She rocks my Championship belt better than me! My fam @UFC Champ @RondaRousey joins me in FAST & FURIOUS 7! As he states, she appears with him in the latest F&F movie ‘ the seventh in the series. The two enjoyed a little banter on the page too.

2. Green Trunks

Some tweets are nothing if they are not bizarre and a little bit of a private joke. So when The Rock found Twitter account ‘robdelaney’, and saw that his profile picture was a pair of tight green swimming trunks, it seems that a bit of challenge to fight in the ring passed between the two men. The Rock posted this Tweet: @robdelaney We can fight but only if you promise to wear those green beach trunks. The tweet has been posted all over the internet.

3. I Rock the Food!

One of the more curious aspects of Twitter culture is the wealth of photographs of people with their food, either just prepared or eating it. The Rock got wind of this and decided to parody the trend with a hilarious photograph of his own and the tweet As a kid: Sat AM was big bowl of cereal & cartoons. As a man: Bigger ass bowl of cereal & ESPN. #StillAKid. The accompanying photograph is of Johnson with his shirt off looking as mean as ever and about to tuck into an enormous bowl of oats!

4. It’s For a Good Cause

Movember is a recent trend to raise awareness of male cancers. For the duration of the month of November, men elect not to shave and grow moustaches or beards to mark the occasion for this worthy cause. In another hilarious Twitter post, The Rock posted a photograph of himself sporting an enormous grey and black moustache that would have put Windsor Davis and Burt Reynolds to shame. 5. My Reward! Pizza and Pancakes!

Another foodie Tweet from The Rock; he ate nothing but healthy food for an eye-opening period of 150 days ‘ the reason for this is not made clear but clearly he was enduring it for good reason. At the end the period he posted this: This is my reward for 150 consecutive days of eating clean. #WorkHardAndEnjoyYourRewards. The accompanying image had a 12 stack of pancakes, four pizzas and twenty-one brownies ‘ and he ate it all in a single day. The message is simple: work hard and enjoy the benefits afterward!

6. The Rock Makes a Splash

Most people go to Disney to go on the rides and some go on Splash Mountain to get wet but try to avoid getting wet in the process ‘ it is a curious phenomenon. The Rock though, wasn’t bothered about getting soaked through. Instead of covering up, he sat upright, flexing his muscles in a tight T-shirt trying to impress one girl in particular. The caption read: Just tryin’ to get Minnie’s attention. Again.. RT: @ajglad: The Rock’s most EPIC Disney photo ever!

7. Pre Work Out Meal

If you want to keep a body look as good as The Rock’s, you have to make a few sacrifices. You are not allowed anywhere near McDonalds, cookies, muffins’¦ forget it. A diet is strictly controlled and when heading into an intense workout you need something protein heavy. He doesn’t mince his words about the flavour of some of it: Pre-workout meal: cod and white rice. Look likes crap but’¦ tastes like crap too 😉 Shovel it in. #SpoonThuggin.

8. I’m An Actor ‘ Don’t Disturb Me!

The Rock isn’t just known as a wrestler these days, he has appeared in numerous blockbuster Hollywood films so naturally while on set and before he is set to film a scene, he feels the need to absorb himself into ‘The Zone’. One picture shows The Rock looking very thoughtful while on-set of one his films, leaning against a truck. The Tweet was captioned: In ‘Hollywood speak’ this is ‘lining up the shot’. In ‘Rock speak’ it’s ‘distract me & I’ll throw you into the sun’. The photographer must have been feeling brave.

9. You May Now Smackdown the Groom

The context is not entirely clear but The Rock clearly does not believe in marriage as he tries to knock some sense into a prospective groom by ‘Laying the smackdown on him’. The poor unfortunate fellow is inside a wrestling ring in the middle of being slammed into the canvas. He looks terrified. The Rock signs off with this Tweet: Why I don’t get invited to weddings. My gift to all grooms. Wait til you see how I gift the Brides..;)

10. Two Favourite Girls

One of the benefits of being a superstar on tour is the right to demand special deliveries to your hotel room and to have them ready and waiting for you on your arrival. The Rock is a man of simple tastes and requested these two fine specimens to his room at an exclusive London hotel: London. Just landed. Insisted my two dates be waiting in my hotel.. Ms Rare & Ms Straight Up. #SatisfiedMan. That’s right, a bottle of Tequila and a rare steak! Who said celebrities have to put in impossible demands.
