The secret society of the Illuminati has been an integral part of our histories. This formidable force has been in existence since the 18th century and is believed to have shaped our past, influence our present, and unite our future. Having emerged on May 1, 1776, the Bavarian Illuminati was founded by Adam Weishaupt with the vision of uniting the world under a common rule.  This new chapter of the Illuminati is said to have merged with Free Masonry to conquer and rule the six main areas of society which encompass religion, politics, economy, education, military and, of course, the media through TV and, more effectively, through pop culture.

Born Stefani Joanne Angelina Germanotta, Lady Gaga has been trying to make her way into the entertainment industry since 2005. In 2008, her album Fame became a big hit, capturing the attention of the masses with songs such as ‘Just Dance’ and  ‘Poker Face.’ In 2009, she succeeded in launching a second album entitled, The Fame Monster where she released the songs ‘Alejandro,’ ‘Bad Romance,’ and ‘Telephone.’ The provocative nature of her performances has been criticized by the public but has also become the obsession of many. Though her lyrics are not explicitly sexual in nature, the music videos which accompany them are derogatory to women. Most of these said videos, which represent female empowerment and individuality, often, if not constantly, show a variety of symbols linked with the Illuminati such as the all-seeing eye, lightning bolts under the eye, and Baphomet, a Satanic symbol.

Beyoncé gained her success as a member of Destiny’s Child. Since 1997 until 2005, Beyoncé Knowles, Michelle Williams, and Kelly Rowland made a name for themselves singing songs about female empowerment. Her parting with her group eventually resulted in the birth of her alter ego, Sasha Fierce. When asked about this alter ego, Beyoncé admitted that she had created this stage persona to protect herself so that when she goes home, she doesn’t have to think about what she does. From becoming a Destiny’s Child member she had to create another being to be able to adapt to her new world. A song, entitled ‘Signs,’ which is from her first solo album, is purported to carry a secret message about the Illuminati’s plans for the future.

Angelina Jolie has been known to many as a wild and free-spirited actress. This image has since then evolved into that of a UNHCR goodwill ambassador visiting poverty-stricken countries such as Cambodia and that of a consummate mother adopting children of different races. This change first manifested when she filmed Tomb Raider in Cambodia which is also where she adopted her first child from. In this film, there is a scene where her character asks her father why he didn’t tell her about the Illuminati. She battles her adversaries to be able to recover a powerful artifact called the Triangle of Light. This allegedly represents the famous symbol of the Masons known as the Pyramid of Giza. Her choice of adopting children from different nations has caused speculations that this act represents the ideals of the IIluminati and is claimed to be an agenda itself.

Rihanna released her album under the production of Jay-Z and has collaborated with him throughout the years. Their video with Kanye West entitled Run This Town directly states their ultimate goals and reasons for doing what they do ”œ run the town, and on a larger scale perhaps to rule the world. Even her most recent appearance on American Idol Season 11 showcases her in an illuminated pyramid. The dancers also form an eye with her as the ball at the middle and emphasize this by making the formation blink.

10. Michael Jackson

The King of Pop has significantly expressed his advocacy for unity and change in the world through his numerous songs such as ‘Black or White’ (unity no matter which race one belongs to), ‘Heal the World’ (change in the world), etc. His success has turned him into a legend, and his untimely death has been shrouded with mystery. This has also been said of other great artists such as Tupac Shakur, Dr. Dre, Notorious B.I.G, Lisa ‘Left Eye’, and Aaliyah. They were alleged members of the Illuminati who turned against their oath, and this unforgivable treacherous act has been paid for with their young lives.

The list goes on. These celebrities have rampantly been captured in pictures and videos promoting the Illuminati insignias such as the great Pyramid of Giza, a hand sign called the horn hand, or the mano cornuto which is considered as a Satanic salute, the Baphomet or goat God, and the all-seeing eye of the Masons, among others.

They are believed to be controlled by a higher cause, a higher power. They are instructed to influence the masses in exchange for fame, fortune, and success. Illuminati or not, these idols have great control over the ideals that they represent to society. Through their messages of eccentricity, empowerment, and unity, they take away something that is most valuable, one’s free-will.
