Ah, the art form that is Healthy Eating. For generations, man has struggled to eat healthy, or at least try to, whenever their wives were around. Let’s face it, some people have a knack for being healthy and eating healthy, while most don’t. As much as I’d like to say “oh, that’s cool too”, it isn’t. Eating healthy is immensely important, it means providing your body with the nutrients it needs in order to go about performing daily tasks, and grow nice and strong.

You don’t have to go on insane crash diets, pay for overpriced salads, or wreck yourselves in the gym. No, all you need to remember is that having a colorful plate, in the fruit and vegetable variety that is, is really good for you. I can’t begin to grasp the power that fruits and vegetables have. Meat would have to be the most toxic part of our dietary needs. Though protein is important, we can get a better protein fix from fish that is just as delicious. Don’t ever skip meals, most importantly breakfast. Less sodium, always. And fiber, fiber, fiber! This sound diet, coupled with lots of water and regular exercise, is the best gift you can give yourself. Now then, shall we proceed to 10 stimulating facts about eating healthy? Yes? Okay.

Fact 1: Our favorite thing to do is now backed by science! According to studies, people who laugh a lot are much, much healthier than those who don’t. Laughing lowers the levels of stress hormones, as well as strengthens our immune system. Those 6 year olds have it good; they laugh an average of 300 times a day, whilst the adults only laugh 15 to 100 times a day. Don’t be a downer.

Fact 2: During the average life span, you’ll be able to consume about 60,000 pounds of food; that’s roughly the weight of about 6 elephant!

Fact 3: Food packaging has labels and markings on them for a reason. Food that doesn’t expire hold up well for longer periods of time because they contain unnatural preservatives, additives, as well as chemicals that deteriorate your body. Yikes!

Fact 4: As we all know, all those fizzy drinks are bad for us. Soda, as well as other sweet drinks contain a helluva lot of sugar, becoming high in calories and lack the healthy nutrients we need.
