The Adventures and Facts on Lao Tzu

Philosophy is always a topic that some people get but most people will struggle with. There are some people who have lived in the past that are still being venerated up to now for showing people the right way of living. Lao Tzu is just one of those people who have managed to gain a lot of followers all over the world.  It is not surprising that a lot of people still remember him and read his teachings for they believe that the sayings of Lao Tzu will show them the proper way of living; the proper way to be happy.

Fact 1: Lao Tzu is the founder of Taoism that is still very popular up to now. The readings and his sayings are all in one book called the Tao Te Ching and you probably do not know but it has been translated many times as well like the Holy Bible of the Catholic Church. Translating will allow people of different nationalities to understand his sayings properly.

Fact 2: Lao Tzu is considered to be one of the most divine people who have ever lived on the planet. He is considered to be gentle. His teachings show that people are recommended not to be aggressive. Rather, they should be gentle and should learn how to live harmoniously with their neighbors. This feat may be hard to do especially at that time when wars were happening left and right.

Fact 3: Even though a lot of researchers and other aspiring philosophers have tried to get more information about his life in general, they have had a hard time and is still having a hard time doing that because they are not able to get enough information about it.

Fact 4: He did gain followers when he was still alive and they all wanted to learn more about how he lived and such but the moment that they were able to get his teachings, they realized that they did not understand it which means that he was in a far higher state than all the others because his beliefs were different and not common.

Fact 5: The way he lived has been clouded in mystery and it will probably remain that way for a long period of time. It has been said that because he lived in a very gentle manner, he did not leave much to be gathered by people. This is the reason why his biography is still not that clear.

Fact 6: Those who are firm believers of Taoism live far gentler lives and are usually not materialistic. This means that they are living simply and are not being influenced much by the modernity of life. It does have its pros and cons though if you would think about it. The modern aspect of life has changed things a lot but then without it, certain sicknesses will not have been resolved.

Fact 7: Lao Tzu has been said to have encountered disappointments in his life when people did not want to follow his teachings at that time. At that time, he was misunderstood and people did not take him seriously.

Fact 8: Lao Tzu has often been related to Confucius who is also a well known Chinese philosopher. According to studies, Lao Tzu lived first although whether they have crossed paths is unknown. There is a difference though between Lao Tzu and Confucius because Lao Tzu focused on inner divinity or being a gentle individual. Confucius on the other hand focused on human relations and how people interacted with each other.

Fact 9: Confucius actually disliked Lao Tzu’s teachings because he did not believe in them. He was able to formulate his own teachings according to his beliefs.

Fact 10: Although a lot of scholars now believe that Lao Tzu’s view of life and divine happiness is a bit limited, this has not stopped people from being inspired by the things that he has said. The principle of life according to his beliefs is based on how a person is when he is at peace.
