Indiana is an American state that is the nationwide leader in agricultural produce with corn as the main crop. The state also has a 41 mile waterfront, which is a great industrial center that produces steel and iron products. More facts are as follows:

Fact 1: There is a city in Indiana called Santa Claus. This city receives over 1 million requests and letters during Christmas time.

Fact 2: The first usable gasoline pump was created in Indiana, specifically the city of Fort Wayne by Syvanus Bower.

Fact 3: David Letterman, a very popular television show host was born in Indiana.

Fact 4: Abraham Lincoln relocated to Indiana at the age of seven years. He lived with both his parents Nancy and Thomas.

Fact 10: Before public learning institutions were built by the government, residents of Indiana pitched in so as to build a log schoolhouse for their children. All the families paid a little amount of money to pay for the salaries of the teachers.

Due to its massive waterfront, Indiana is prone to tornadoes. In 2005, an injurious tornado struck Evansville injuring 200 and killing 22 people.
