Fact no 1: if you are animal enthusiasts and love everything related to the wild life then you would be glad to know that Austin, Texas hosts one of the biggest population of bats. It is estimated that around 1.5 million bats reside under the Congress Ave Bridge. This is the biggest colony of bats in the urban regions and these bats migrate to Mexico when the weather gets colder.

Fact no 2: Austin is the proud owner of the biggest state capital infrastructure amongst all the fifty states. it is one of the places that are constantly visited by tourist from all around the world, since it is spread over an impressive square area. It is important here to mention, while it covers the most land area as compared to any other state capitol buildings, the highest capital building is in Louisiana and this particular building comes at second position.

Fact no 5: Where NASCAR might be of immense importance as compared to Formula One, Texas has the only race track that is used for Formula One car racing. The first ever Formula race occurred in 2012, this race is expected to be held every year till 2022.

Fact no 6: The Darrell K Royal stadium is one of the largest stadiums in the world. It shares a position amongst the top 10 non motor sport stadiums in the world and has a capacity to seat 100,000 people. It is considered as the largest stadium in Texas and the 6th largest stadium amongst all of the 50 states of America.

Fact no 7: Texas is also known by another very popular name; the silicon hills. The second part of the name is derived from the fact that this state is geographically positioned very near the Texas Hill Country. The first part of the name is due to the fact that a lot of companies related to the latest technologies have opened up in this area. These companies have been coming here for over 20 years and have successfully made a hub in the region.

Fact no 8: This is one of the most liberal cities in the world. There are no laws that restrict women from going out without wearing their tops. This law was put into action in the late 70’s in an attempt to make a statement about gender equality.

Fact no 9: The Colorado River runs through Texas and often provided people with the chance to enjoy themselves out on the water, either boating or fishing.

Fact no 10: According to surveys and statistics, Texas has been ranked as the 4th safest place in the world in USA to live in.  The survey has been based on criteria like the average expectancy of life and other socio economic facts.
