Writing a story about any individual human being almost always includes a citing of most of the good and bad achievements. The now legendary, self-styled King of Pop music, Michael Jackson, is no exception. While there could be several good articles of information on the pop star’s songwriting and action movies, a few articles informed about the scandalous accusations against him and his strange habits. This information had overshadowed a major part of the singer and songwriter’s career at a most damaging level. This situation almost threatened or perhaps could have orchestrated his lifestyle changes. While there could be several contradicting “Michael Jackson Facts and Information” stories throughout electronic and social media websites and several magazines, a few reliable articles with facts and information on the Pop Star’s life and achievements have been written. Reliable sources like CNN’s web page and the Wikipedia pages could provide some true facts and information that may or may not agree with several other types of media information.

The most notable facts of the Pop Star are those of his birth and the start of his music career from the very young age of five while singing along with his brothers. Marlon, Jermaine, Tito, and Jackie joined Michael in their group named The Jackson 5. Born on August 29, 1958, in a large African-American working class family in Gary, Indiana, he was the eighth child of a total of ten, where one twin expired at a very early age. His mother Katherine was a devout Jehovah’s Witness homemaker who had once aspired to be a country and western performer with a clarinet. His father, Joseph Jackson, a former boxer and guitarist, put aside his musical aspirations to ensure regular income for the family upkeep and worked as a crane operator. He performed with a rhythm and blues band in his free time just to supplement the large family’s income and upkeep. Michael’s father was instrumental in molding his sons into a musical group in the early 1960s. The group consisted of just four brothers when it first started, and Michael joined later at the age of five and eventually emerged as the group’s lead vocalist. His remarkable range and depth and his ability to convey complex emotions while performing impressed the audiences.

The Jackson 5 initially played at local bars and gigs before entering the global arena. They were first discovered in early 1969 by the founder of the Motown recording label when he saw the group performing as opening acts for R&B artists such as Gladys Knight and the Pips, James Brown, and Sam and Dave. Most of these performers had earlier links with the Motown Recording Company. At the early age of 13, Michael launched a solo career in addition to his work with the group. While they maintained their career with the Motown recording label, for several years there was behind-the-scenes trouble brewing. His father contradicted the manner in which the company managed the group’s career creativity until the relationship was severed in 1976. They continued their musical career after signing up with Epic Records. By the time their third album had been recorded in 1978, the album Destiny earned the group the ability to emerge as talented songwriters. In 1979, Michael’s album Off the Wall was so infectious with a blend of pop and funk and featured Grammy Award-winning singles like “Don’t Stop ’Till You Get Enough.” Their next album Triumph sold more than a million copies, while Michael still found a way to perform singly. He also teamed up with the Beatles’ star, Paul McCartney, for a 1982 duet, “This Girl is Mine,” and later included the single in his greatest ever selling album, Thriller, that included ten hits. On a 1983 television special honoring Motown Records, Michael Jackson performed his No. 1 hit “Billy Jean” and debuted his soon-to-be-famous dance move, the Moonwalk. Michael Jackson continued to perform and record several top albums alongside all-time great artists.

He bought a large piece of land to create his famous California Ranch, where he had amusement park-like rides and exotic animals. He opened up the Ranch to children’s events, and several controversies began growing in 1993 about his behavior. He was accused of child sex offenses, which he successfully settled out of court and had a few of the cases dismissed as false.

With several financial strains and criticism on his behavior, Michael Jackson went on. His fame was renowned and even had a British journalist, Martin Bashir, spending several months with him. His financial restraints got worse, and he had to take refuge with Bahrain’s Prince and promised to conduct special performances for Al-Khalifa’s record label, which never materialized and worsened his all-too-familiar financial crisis. Michael Jackson’s end came all too suddenly while he was extensively rehearsing for his comeback tour, which was set to begin at the O2 Arena in London on July 8, 2009. He personally saw all the tickets sell out in a record four-hour period. On June 25, 2009, he suffered an apparent cardiac arrest in his Los Angeles home and slipped away, and controversies still continue on the nature of his death. He also made history as the top earning artist posthumously.
